2013 Election: Vote Wisely

The 7-Election, a survey conducted by 7-11 Philippines, released its final list of senatorial candidates chosen by the buyers, perhaps most of which are members of the working class. Amazingly, most of my chosen candidates are here.

Vote not according to popularity—what SWS or Pulse (sometimes False) Asia showed on television or heard on the radio since we know that most of these surveys were paid. Vote not according to name and/or surname (especially to avoid political dynasties). Do not re-elect candidates who did nothing significant for this country because there is a big possibility that they will repeat what they have done (or not done). Do not vote for candidates who cannot manage their own families because how else can they manage a country made up of thousands of families? Do not vote for candidates who have not exhibited leadership in any way and who lacks knowledge on national laws and local regulations. Vote for candidates who laid down a solid platform and gave concrete action plans. It’s easy for a candidate to say “I will put food on the table or I will provide jobs” but think further and ask yourself, “how will they be able to actually do that?” Do not sell your vote because that will already be your payment for the years that that candidate will sit and extract money from the (your / our) public funds.

Today, do not just exercise your right to vote. EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE WISELY.

In this age when people are becoming more and more conscious of their physical appearance, sporting a toned body during the summer is a rewarding experience. But owning a good physique isn’t easy as counting ladies in bikinis at the beach. It requires hard work and discipline. Aside from regular exercise, a calculated and enjoyable diet plan is needed.

As I was flipping through the pages of a health magazine at my dentist’s clinic, I chanced upon Ukranian editor David Zinczenko’s list of foods for a flatter stomach and leaner body called the A.B.S.D.I.E.T.P.O.W.E.R. Armed with my humble memory, Adobe Photoshop and Google Chrome, I created a mini image that my readers and I can use for quick reference. It should be noted that the roster serves only as a solid guideline to eating protein-packed and fat-burning foods. It may not be applicable to everyone. Therefore, consulting a registered nutritionist before changing diet is still highly advised.

You Are The Apple Of My Eye

One of the best Asian movie that I watched, such a teajerker movie. I don’t know, maybe it’s true, that when you love someone, it’s not about how you feel, it’s not about what will happen, and it’s not about receiving back the love that you are giving, maybe it’s about loving without desiring anything in return and cherishing the chance of loving someone. And maybe we’ll get hurt and lose hope. We’ll try to move on and forget, but in the end, no matter what happens, we’ll always love and care for that person.
